During the inaugural exhibition at the gallery, Andreas Schmidt presented a mini-retrospective of his own artworks, dating from as early as 1993 up to 2016. Schmidt was offering all the works for sale at half price of previous gallery shows, in order to comment on the mechanics of the contemporary art gallery market (most commercial galleries traditionally take a 50% cut upon a successful sale of an art work). Now that Schmidt owns a gallery he can sell his own artworks at half price and will still earn the same.
